Gateway Park Center PERKINS+WILL <br /> 810495.00 <br />12/06/18 <br />033000-42 Cast-In-Place <br />Concrete <br />B.Contractor shall submit patching and repair methods and materials for review by <br />Design Professionals. <br />C.When complete, all patches and repairs shall match color and texture of <br />adjoining surfaces. <br />D.At surfaces that are exposed to view, prepare test areas at inconspicuous <br />locations for review by Design Professionals to verify repair color and texture <br />match before proceeding with repair. <br />E.Apply all patching and repair materials in accordance with manufacturer’s <br />specifications. <br />F.Repairing Cracks In Formed and Unformed Surfaces: <br />1.Contractor shall notify Design Professionals of all cracks wider than 0.02” <br />(0.50mm) and all cracks wider than 0.01” (0.25mm) that occur in a group <br />of at least three cracks within twelve inches (300mm), in concrete. If <br />Design Professionals deem repairs necessary, Contractor shall be <br />responsible for repairing all such cracks per Design Professionals <br />recommendation at no expense to the Owner. Repairs will generally <br />require one or more of the following: Epoxy Injection, Semi-Rigid Epoxy, <br />Pressure Injected Foam Resin, Methyl Methacrylate and/or Sealant with <br />joint routed and cleaned. See Concrete Repair Materials section of this <br />Specification for acceptable products <br />G.Repairing Formed Surfaces <br />1.Immediately after stripping forms, patch all honeycombing, defective <br />joints, voids, etc. before the concrete is thoroughly dry. <br />2.Remove all burrs, fins, and ridges before the concrete is thoroughly dry. <br />3.Remove stains from rust, grease and oils, from release agents, etc. <br />4.Remove and replace concrete having defective surfaces if defects cannot <br />be repaired to satisfaction of the Design Professionals. <br />a)Surface defects, include color and texture irregularities, cracks as <br />defined above, spalls, air bubbles, honeycomb, rock pockets, fins <br />and other projections on the surface, and stains and other <br />discolorations that cannot be removed by cleaning. <br />b)Chip away defective areas, honeycomb, rock pockets, voids over <br />1/4" (6mm) in any dimension and holes left by tie rods and bolts, <br />down to solid concrete but in no case to a depth less than 1" <br />(25mm) and saw-cut edges to prevent feather edging of fill <br />material. <br />5.Repair concealed formed surfaces, where possible, containing defects <br />that affect the durability of concrete. If defects cannot be repaired, <br />remove and replace concrete. <br />6.Clean out form tie holes and fill with dry pack mortar or precast cone <br />plugs secured in place with bonding agent.
