Gateway Park Center PERKINS+WILL <br /> 810495.00 <br />12/06/18 <br />033000-43 Cast-In-Place <br />Concrete <br />7.If honeycombing exposes reinforcement, chip to provide clear space at <br />least 3/4" (20mm) wide all around steel to allow proper bond. <br />H.Repairing Unformed Surfaces: <br />1.High and Low areas in concrete surfaces which are in excess of specified <br />tolerances shall be leveled or ground-smooth. <br />a)Correct high areas by grinding after concrete has cured at least 14 <br />days. <br />b)Correct low areas by applying leveling material. Finish leveling <br />material as specified in this section. <br />2.Repair surfaces containing defects that affect durability of concrete. <br />a)Surface defects include crazing, cracks as defined above, <br />spalling, popouts, honeycombs, rock pockets, and other <br />objectionable conditions. <br />3.Repair defective areas, except random cracks and single holes not <br />exceeding 1" (25mm) in diameter, by cutting out and replacing with fresh <br />concrete. <br />a)Remove defective areas with clean, square cuts and expose <br />reinforcing steel with at least 3/4" (20mm) clearance all around. <br />I.Filling In: Fill in holes and openings left in concrete for passage of work by other <br />trades, unless otherwise shown or directed, after work of other trades is in place. <br />3.8 EVALUATION AND ACCEPTANCE OF CONCRETE <br />A.In accordance with ACI 301, except where otherwise specified. <br />B.If, at any time during construction, the concrete resulting from the approved mix <br />design deviates from Specification requirements for any reason, such as lack of <br />workability, or insufficient strength, the Contractor shall have his laboratory verify <br />the deficiency and modify the mix design, until the specified concrete is obtained. <br />Modified mix to be submitted for approval per Part 1 - SUBMITTALS. <br />3.9 CORRECTIVE MEASURES <br />A.Conflicts: The Contractor shall be solely responsible for errors of detailing, <br />fabrication, and placement of reinforcement steel; placement of inserts and other <br />embedded items; and the structural adequacy of all formwork. <br />B.Compensation for Additional Services: Should additional work by Design <br />Professionals such as design, documentation, meetings and/or site visits be <br />required which are necessitated by failure of the Contractor to perform the work <br />in accordance with the Contract Documents either developing corrective actions <br />or reviewing corrective actions developed by others, the Contractor is <br />responsible for paying for additional work performed by the Design Professionals
