Our services enable our local government clients to meet their <br />constitutional responsibilities and to earn and retain their constituents' confidence and trust. <br />As Lead City Attorney, Lillian Arango will bring considerable local government experience. <br />Her approach is that of a facilitator on and off the dais. Counseling elected and appointed officials and <br />staff alike, the intent is to find the best legal, practical, and creative solution to a given situation. The <br />hallmark of her representation is accessibility, collaboration, and the establishment of legally <br />compliant, repeatable positions, policies, and procedures. Given their prior and current representation <br />of municipalities, Lillian Arango and Daniel A. Espino have considerable experience executing the <br />approach discussed in this section. <br />Labor• and Employment Law Services <br />Our labor and employment practice group is chaired by Brett J. Schneider. Brett is Florida Bar <br />Board Certified in Labor and Employment Law and regularly lectures on labor and employment law <br />developments impacting municipalities in South Florida. The consummate counselor, Brett will work <br />collaboratively with administration to provide tailored advice and policies, procedures, and <br />recommendations for the City to minimize risk associated with, and to resolve, employment issues. <br />Brett has experience is virtually every area of labor and employment. He will work in lock step with <br />the City Attorney to ensure the approach in this section is fully implemented. In addition to Brett, the <br />Firm has seven other labor and employment attorneys with decades of experience in all facets of labor <br />and employment law. <br />As a result such depth in this area of specialization, we are able to provide clients with up-to- <br />date guidance concerning all labor and employment issues. Our focus is on providing prompt, <br />creative, efficient and responsive legal guidance to our clients tailored to the specific issues that <br />keep our clients up at night. When labor and employment issues arise for the City, Brett will make <br />sure that they are handled in a high quality, efficient and cost-effective manner by an attorney within <br />the practice group who has the appropriate experience to handle the matter at issue. <br />We are employment counselors providing valuable guidance to our clients to prevent claims <br />from arising. Our approach is hands on, working with administrations and staff to draft solid policies <br />and procedures, advise on hiring, discipline and termination, train staff about internal policies and <br />workplace laws, and handle wage and hour, benefits, retirement, and other fair labor standards act <br />matters. We have drilled down on this complex area and have had considerable success in ensuring <br />client compliance and defending these matters.
