Summary Minutes:Regular City Commission Meeting February 20,2014 City of Sunny Isles Beach,Florida Action: City Clerk Hines read the title, and Cultural and Community Services Assistant Director Sylvia Flores reported. Public Speakers: Gil Dezer Gil Dezer said this is a further commitment from the Dezer Family to the City. We all live here,and he has two daughters that will be enjoying this Park as well as the other children in Trump Towers. Mayor Edelcup thanked Mr. Dezer for improving the quality of life in Sunny Isles Beach. Commissioner Scholl moved and Vice Mayor Aelion seconded a motion to approve the resolution. Resolution No. 2014-2200 was adopted by a voice vote of 5-0 in favor. 10S. A Resolution of the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida,Approving an Agreement with Rep Services,Inc. for the Purchase and Installation of a Complete Playground Including Playground Equipment, Safety Surfacing and Shade Structure for Intracoastal Park, in an Amount Not to Exceed $149,999.84, Attached Hereto as Exhibit "A"; Authorizing Waiver of Competitive Bidding Procedures; Authorizing the Mayor to Execute Said Agreement; Authorizing the City Manager to Do All Things Necessary to Effectuate this Resolution; Providing for an Effective Date. Action: City Clerk Hines read the title, and Cultural and Community Services Assistant Director Sylvia Flores reported noting that we were piggybacking off from a contract with Clay County, however, their Contract was up in January to be renewed this month. We did not have the award letter at the time of printing but since then we have received it and confirmed that we are getting the same prices. Public Speakers: None Vice Mayor Aelion moved and Commissioner Gatto seconded a motion to approve the resolution,as amended. Resolution No.2014-2201was adopted by a voice vote of 5-0 in favor. 10T. A Resolution of the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, Declaring the Month of March as"Bike305 Month";Authorizing the City Manager to Do All Things Necessary to Effectuate this Resolution; Providing for an Effective Date. Action: City Clerk Hines read the title, and Cultural and Community Services Assistant Director Sylvia Flores reported noting that this is an initiative through the County to promote fitness throughout the various municipalities. We would like to support this initiative in hopes that in the future we can expand our interior bike path possibly to Collins Avenue and to connect with other municipalities.
