This scheme is only feasible <br />with a steel superstructure. Concrete solutions will <br />require the use of a temporary shoring system located <br />in the median of A1A with a significant impact on the <br />local traffic for a longer period of time. <br />FINLEY has successfully used the proposed <br />erection scheme on several projects, such as the <br />Estero Parkway Flyover in Lee County, FL, and <br />currently is proposing, with Hanson, a similar solution <br />on the US27/SR25/Okeechobee Rd and SR826/ <br />Palmetto Expressway Interchange in Miami, FL. <br />The girder arrives at night, is lifted in place and <br />erected immediately, removing the need to store the <br />girder on-site which would cause a visible nuisance to <br />the local area.
