(1) TITLE AND LOCATION (City and State)(2) YEAR COMPLETED
Louisville Waterfront Park Phase III, Big Four Pedestrian Ramp (Louis-
ville, KY)
PROFESSIONAL SERVICES CONSTRUCTION (if applicable)
2010 2010
(3) BRIEF DESCRIPTION (Brief scope, size, cost, etc.) AND SPECIFIC ROLE Check if project performed with current firm
The Big Four Pedestrian Ramp is a $22M 693-ft-long twin steel box girder bridge and circular landing platform. The redesign ramp structure incorporated
a constant girder cross section, reduced deck thickness and integral pier connections, all helped to reduce fabrication and erection costs. FINLEY’s Value
Engineering redesign was able to reduce the costs relating to materials, fabrication, and construction for the Client by approximately $3M. Jerry prepared
preliminary and final design and layout for the highly curved steel box girder pedestrian bridge. Role: Technical Director Cost: $22 Million
(1) TITLE AND LOCATION (City and State)(2) YEAR COMPLETED
Capital CascadeS Crossing Pedestrian Bridge (Tallahassee, FL)
PROFESSIONAL SERVICES CONSTRUCTION (if applicable)
2016 2016
(3) BRIEF DESCRIPTION (Brief scope, size, cost, etc.) AND SPECIFIC ROLE Check if project performed with current firm
The $7.2M new Capital Cascades Crossing Pedestrian Bridge spans over Tallahassee Florida’s bustling South Monroe Street connecting Cascades Park
with the Capital Cascades Trail. The bridge’s design focuses on aesthetics and presented many challenges for construction. FINLEY developed a unique
temporary support system for the superstructure precast girder sections that allowed the four slanted steel pipe columns to remain in position while the
deck was supported and post-tensioned. Jerry was the Lead Bridge Engineer responsible for construction engineering services including erection manual,
falsework and geometry control. Role: Technical Director/Cost $7.2M
c.
(1) TITLE AND LOCATION (City and State)(2) YEAR COMPLETED
Estero Parkway Overpass (Ft. Myers, FL)
PROFESSIONAL SERVICES CONSTRUCTION (if applicable)
2009 2009
(3) BRIEF DESCRIPTION (Brief scope, size, cost, etc.) AND SPECIFIC ROLE Check if project performed with current firm
The $35M Estero Flyover is 561-ft-long, with spans of 340 ft and 221 ft, and approximately 116-ft-wide. It extends Estero Parkway over I-75, connecting with
Ben Hill Griffin Parkway. This project was a Value Engineering redesign consisting in the replacing of twin, cast-in-place concrete box girders design with a
single, four-steel box girder bridge. This solution expedited the construction schedule and provided a savings of $2.94M to Lee County, with the elimination of
a large falsework support system, reduced construction time, reduced foundation design requirements and simplified construction methods. Role: Technical
Director/Cost $32.2M
(1) TITLE AND LOCATION (City and State)(2) YEAR COMPLETED
PALMETTO SECTION 5 SR 826/836 INTERCHANGE D-B-F (MIAMI, FL)
PROFESSIONAL SERVICES CONSTRUCTION (if applicable)
2013 2015
(3) BRIEF DESCRIPTION (Brief scope, size, cost, etc.) AND SPECIFIC ROLE Check if project performed with current firm
This $558M design-build-finance project consists of high-level precast segmental bridge ramps (Bridges No. 9, 11, 15, 19) that traverse the core of the
interchange. Jerry was responsible for directing the design of four high-level precast segmental bridge ramps that constructed in balanced cantilever using
an erection gentry. This includes final design, specifications, and construction engineering. Role: Technical Director/Cost $558M
e.
(1) TITLE AND LOCATION (City and State)(2) YEAR COMPLETED
Miami Intermodal Center -Bridge 10A (Miami, FL)
PROFESSIONAL SERVICES CONSTRUCTION (if applicable)
2009 2009
(3) BRIEF DESCRIPTION (Brief scope, size, cost, etc.) AND SPECIFIC ROLE Check if project performed with current firm
The value engineering redesign incorporates a 5-span, dual-steel box girder superstructure with a variable width and high degree of curvature. By converting
the superstructure to steel and using only one superstructure type, the redesign eliminates the need for falsework. Jerry was the Design Engineer who
performed calculations for this curved steel box girder bridge alternative design (approx. 140-ft span) with a rolled section sub-girder system. Role: Technical
Director/Cost $8M
