EAC Consulting, Inc.
eacconsult.com
City of Sunny Isles Beach • RFQ 19-11-01 • Professional Engineering and Architectural Services for Pedestrian Bridge with Park Elements Across A1A at 174th St.
PROJECT APPROACH AND UNDERSTANDING
Members of the Selection Committee,
EAC Consulting, Inc. (EAC), with partners Rosales + Partners (R+P), and Savino and Miller Design Studio (SMDS) - in association
with specialty sub-consultants - are pleased to submit our qualifications for the Professional Engineering and Architectural
Services RFQ for the Pedestrian Bridge with Park Elements across A1A at 174th Street and Collins Avenue. We have assembled
a project team with the required experience, expertise, and approach to successfully deliver this pedestrian bridge park project.
Some of the unique qualifications of the EAC Team assembled for this project are:
1. EAC understands the requirements of the FDOT’s Local Agency Program (LAP) Manual as it relates to projects such as this
- that involve a bridge structure crossing a roadway. We will comply with the FDOT’s latest revisions to the LAP Manual, the
Florida Design Manual, FDOT Structures Manual and FDOT Standard Plans for these bridges.
2. EAC has included a peer review firm on our team that will review not only the design of the bridge, but also the construction
sequence.
3. EAC has a proven reputation for providing notable bridge structures, including pedestrian bridges. In 2019, EAC successfully
completed the design of the pedestrian bridges for the HardRock Stadium as part of a design build contract.
4. EAC’s commitment to public safety will result in a successful project.
PROPOSED ENGINEERING AND ARCHTECTURAL SERVICES
EAC is a FDOT certified firm with the capability to provide structural and transportation design services -
including pedestrian bridge design, roadway design, maintenance of traffic, lighting design, permitting, and
construction engineering inspections. EAC’s bridge certifications include major steel, concrete, and concrete
segmental bridges - and EAC has assembled the premier bridge engineering team in Miami-Dade County. EAC built its reputation
and business by providing design services for notable bridge structures, including pedestrian bridges. EAC has recent experience
in pedestrian bridge design with the Hard Rock Stadium Pedestrian Bridges in the City of Miami Gardens. The EAC Project Team
is familiar with Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and FDOT Local Agency Program (LAP) requirements. In conjunction with
FDOT District 6, our Project Team has experience with federally funded projects such as the Venetian Causeway Bridges Project
Development and Environment (PD&E) Study, which is currently in its final stages. It will be our priority to perform all necessary
due diligence to ensure that the objectives of the City of Sunny Isles Beach are attained. Leading our Project Team is K.T. Lin,
PE, PhD, and structures department head. He is a registered Florida Professional Engineer with over 35 years in bridge structure
design - including pedestrian bridges. EAC’s commitment to public safety will result in a successful project.
