EAC Consulting, Inc. <br />eacconsult.com <br />City of Sunny Isles Beach • RFQ 19-11-01 • Professional Engineering and Architectural Services for Pedestrian Bridge with Park Elements Across A1A at 174th St. <br />R+P will provide engineering and architecture services for the pedestrian bridge and elevator specifications. <br />R+P has designed and completed over 30 award-winning pedestrian bridges across the USA, and has <br />experience working with the FDOT. Many of these pedestrian bridges are icons of their communities - creating notable sculptural <br />and technically innovative impacts while being well integrated in context. R+P has received national and international awards <br />for bridge design, and have experience with many different types of structural systems and architectural approaches. Miguel <br />Rosales, the owner and president of R+P, will be providing architectural services for this project. He is a registered Florida <br />Architect and certified Master Gardener by the University of Florida. <br />SMDS, a FDOT certified firm with an award-winning studio, is located in North Miami, and will be the <br />Landscape Architect for this project. SMDS will play a key role as urban designer advising the team <br />regarding the final layout and site planning of the pedestrian bridge/parkway. The SMDS office is located about six miles from <br />the project site. Their projects in the City of Sunny Isles Beach include the City Hall Landscape Master Plan and Gateway Park. <br />Over the last 25 years, SMDS has worked on several FDOT bridge and streetscape projects. These include the Brickell Avenue <br />Median, Collins Avenue in Miami Beach, and the reconfiguration and beautification of the 41st Street bridges in Miami Beach <br />over Indian Creek and Biscayne Waterway.SMDS has previously worked with EAC on many projects - most recently as Urban <br />Designers and Landscape and Design Architects for the preparation on the PD&E Study for the Tamiami Canal Bridge. In this <br />project, the task included the relocation and design of the Bridge Tender House, as well as bridge aesthetics. <br />Manuel G. Vera & Associates Inc. (MGV), a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) and prequalified under <br />FDOT’s Work Groups 8.1, 8.2, and 8.4, will provide surveying services. MGV has been providing design <br />survey and right-of-way mapping services to the Central and South Florida area for over 45 years, servicing Miami-Dade County, <br />local cities, and FDOT Districts 4 and 6 for over 36 years, and the Florida Turnpike Enterprise for over 25 years. MGV’s past <br />experience providing the same professional surveying and mapping services required for this signature bridge will ensure that <br />this project is completed on schedule and within budget. <br />Geosol, Inc. (GEOSOL), is a small professional firm that has been providing geotechnical services for over 20 <br />years. GEOSOL is certified as a Small Business Enterprise (SBE) and Disadvantaged Business Enterprise <br />(DBE) by FDOT, and qualified under FDOT’s Work Groups 9.1, 9.2, 9.4.1 and 9.4.2. The firm is based in Miami Lakes, within <br />close proximity to the project location. The firm provides geotechnical engineering and testing services. In addition, GEOSOL <br />has engineers who are CTQP certified in drilled shaft inspections. Mr. Oracio Riccobono, PE, has over 31 years of geotechnical <br />experience, and is the lead Geotechnical Engineer of the firm. He is fully aware of the geotechnical conditions of the project <br />site. Mr. Riccobono has been the Geotechnical Engineer of Record for many FDOT D6, MDX, Florida Turnpike Design Build <br />and Miami-Dade Transit projects. Recently, he was the geotechnical Engineer-of-Record for the Hard Rock Stadium Pedestrian <br />Bridges for the City of Miami Gardens. GEOSOL provides local knowledge of the area with national experience in pedestrian <br />bridge design and award-winning projects across the United States. <br />TLC Engineering Solutions (TLC) was founded in 1955 and consistently ranked among the largest <br />Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) and structural engineering firms in the country. They are a highly <br />qualified team of over 380 professionals - including professional engineers, LEED-accredited professionals, and ACG-registered <br />commissioning authorities, coupled with specialists in acoustics, energy management, and technology. TLC will provide MEP <br />Design Services. <br />Smart-Sciences, Inc, a Woman Owned Business Enterprise (WBE) and DBE FDOT certified firm, provides <br />expertise in environmental permitting, ecological consulting and environmental science. They provide <br />innovative solutions that promote smart growth and human development in an environmentally sustainable manner. <br />ASA Consultants, Inc. (ASA) is an FDOT certified firm that offers highway and structural engineering services. <br />ASA specializes in all facets of highway and structural engineering, and will be performing peer review for this <br />project. They are organized in distinct service niches - that include minor, major, and complex roadway design, miscellaneous <br />structures and minor and major bridge design, conventional bridge inspection and bridge load rating, and signing, pavement <br />marking, and channelization and qualified under FDOT Work Groups 3.1, 3.2, 3.3, 4.1.1, 4.1.2, 4.2.1, 4.2.2 , 4.2.3, 5.1, 5.4, <br />and 7.1. ASA has worked exclusively in South Florida, primarily in FDOT Districts 4 and 6. In addition, ASA has served as staff <br />augmentation for FDOT D4 for the past three years.
