EAC Consulting, Inc. <br />eacconsult.com <br />City of Sunny Isles Beach • RFQ 19-11-01 • Professional Engineering and Architectural Services for Pedestrian Bridge with Park Elements Across A1A at 174th St. <br />ASA consultants was involved in design and construction plans <br />for the emergency pedestrian bridge over the Intracoastal <br />waterway, locally known as Town Center Park Canal, between NE <br />174th St. and NE 172nd St., along North Bay Road, City of Sunny <br />Isles Beach. This project was within a very tight right-of-way, and <br />included replacement of existing sea walls on the north side of <br />the canal. <br />LARS engineering, Inc. (LARS), an FDOT certified firm for the past decade, has inspected over 1,500 Bridges <br />in the State of Florida, including pedestrian bridges. LARS recently performed the initial inspection for the <br />Pedestrian Bridge at Hard Rock Stadium, in the City of Miami Gardens. They are knowledgeable of the latest inspection and <br />reporting techniques and procedures established by FHWA. LARS’ commitment includes reviewing all kinds of inspection <br />reports of pedestrian bridges to determine the most common type of deficiencies found in the history of repairs. They bring an <br />unmatchable mixture of experience and dedication to guarantee that the quality of work exceeds expectations. LARS’ key staff <br />have completed several FHWA-NHI training classes, including safety Inspection of in-service Bridges. <br />Choice Engineering Consultants, Inc. (Choice), is a DBE, SBE, Civil Engineering firm - specializing in Roadway <br />and Traffic Engineering. Choice provides design solutions in Traffic Engineering and Operations Studies, Traffic <br />Safety Analysis, Traffic Operations Design, and ADA compliance support and planning. Since its inception in 2015, Choice has <br />been proudly selected to serve as FDOT’s Districtwide Signal Retiming Consultant for Miami-Dade and Monroe counties, and <br />has served FDOT District 6 for the past five years. <br />Janus Research is a Cultural Resources Management (CRM) firm that consistently provides the FDOT with <br />high-quality cultural resource management services. They have a solid understanding of the challenges posed <br />by federal laws, regulations, and guidelines, and know how to negotiate the complex process of State Historic <br />Preservation Office (SHPO) and regulatory approval. They excel at developing creative mitigation strategies with little or no <br />impact to construction schedules. They have long-standing relationships with the staff of the Florida Division of Historical <br />Resources’ Compliance and Review Section, the Federal Highway Administration, the State Archaeologist, the SHPO, the <br />Miccosukee Section 106 Representative, and the Seminole Tribal Historic Preservation Officer. <br />PROJECT MANAGEMENT PLAN <br />Our commitment to the City of Sunny Isles Beach is <br />to meet all project milestones and produce a cost- <br />effective quality product that avoids construction issues <br />and minimizes future maintenance. We will utilize <br />weekly team meetings that clearly convey the City’s <br />expectations on scope, budget, schedule, and quality. <br />The Project Manager, K.T. Lin, PE, PhD, and Assistant <br />Project Manager, Stephanie Romero, PE, will run team <br />meetings and coordinate communication with all project <br />discipline leaders to ensure that expectations are met. <br />Monthly progress meetings will be held with the City’s <br />Project Manager and project stakeholders to ensure <br />proper coordination of the project scope, schedule, and <br />budget. Our approach includes risk assessment and <br />a proactive approach to addressing issues, which will <br />minimize the involvement of the City’s Project Manager, <br />while keeping him informed of all project issues.
