From the very beginning of the project, an open and collaborative planning process will enable the team to creatively work in partnership with the public and regional and local agencies to help identify and address the area’s needs and any potential complications and conflicts early in the design process. The Project Team will evaluate and propose viable design alternatives for the proposed pedestrian bridge concept. Task 2: Design Development and 30% Plans An integrated approach of engineering and architectural concepts will ensure that overall, the project will successfully balance the function of the proposed pedestrian bridge park and the area needs of the community. Based on the selection of a Preferred Alternative, the Project Team will develop a preliminary project design that will provide safe pedestrian and bicycle access over Collins Avenue at 174th Street. In this task the EAC Project Team will submit a complete set of 30% plans to the City of Sunny Isles Beach staff for review and comment. The 30% submittal will include: •30% Design Calculations •30% Design Plans - that include the Bridge Park Layout and Geometry •30% Technical Specifications •30% Estimate of Probable Cost •30% Construction Schedule The EAC Project Team will meet with the City of Sunny Isles Beach staff and discuss the 30% submittal review comments for further design development to be incorporated in the 60% design phase. Task 3: Design Development and 60% Plans Based on the 30% review comments and direction from the City of Sunny Isles Beach, the EAC Project Team will further develop the project design. In this task the EAC Project Team will prepare a 60% submittal that includes: •60% Design Calculations •60% Design Plans - that include all bridge design detailing including proposed bridge foundations and park landscaping details •60% Refined Technical Specifications •60% Refined Estimate of Probable Cost •60% Refined Construction Schedule The EAC Project Team will meet with the City of Sunny Isles Beach staff and discuss the 60% review comments for further design development to be incorporated in 100% design phase. Task 4: Design Development and 100% Plans Based on the 60% review comments and direction from the City of Sunny Isles Beach, the EAC Project Team will finalize the project design. In this phase, the EAC Project Team will prepare a 100% submittal that includes: •100% Design Calculations •100% Design Plans •100% Technical Specifications •100% Estimate of Probable Cost •100% Construction Schedule Afterward, the Project Team will meet with the City of Sunny Isles Beach staff and discuss the 100% review comments for final construction plans. Task 5: Permitting Phase The EAC Project Team will prepare all necessary permit application packages to be provided to all applicable and regulating agencies. The EAC Project Team will also meet with the City of Sunny Isles Beach and address any comments needed to obtain approvals from the reviewing agencies. The City of Sunny Isles Beach will be responsible for all permit application fees. Task 6: 100% Construction Plans and Bidding Documents The EAC Project Team will finalize all construction plans and issue signed and sealed plan sets for the City of Sunny Isles Beach records. The EAC Project Team will assist the City of Sunny Isles Beach in preparing close-out bidding documents. The following close-out bidding documents will be provided: •Bid Tabs for Contractor bid tabulation •Approved 100% Technical Specifications •Approved 100% Signed and Sealed plans •Approved 100% Design Calculations Task 7: Construction Management Services The EAC Project Team will assist the City of Sunny Isles Beach with Construction Management Services upon request.
