EAC Consulting, Inc.
eacconsult.com
City of Sunny Isles Beach • RFQ 19-11-01 • Professional Engineering and Architectural Services for Pedestrian Bridge with Park Elements Across A1A at 174th St.
•New Railing Alternatives - During the design development we will work with the City to propose the use of a stainless-steel
flexible mesh or similar railing material alternatives which can be very transparent and will not require major cleaning and
maintenance costs. This will eliminate the possibility of graffiti vandalism and salt spray from the beach location that can
provide a cloudy appearance.
•Native Plants – The EAC Project Team will propose 100% native plants that are hardy and sustainable and will not need
as much maintenance, irrigation and fertilizers. This alternative will also beautify the location by attracting butterflies and
other pollinators.
•Improved Bridge Structure – The EAC Project Team will evaluate a geometrically lighter bridge. The current proposed
structure can appear lighter and be aligned perpendicular to Collins Avenue. It will feel less aggressive towards incoming
vehicular circulation while improving bridge aesthetics and constructability. The proposed structural system can also hold
plantings that can hold a water collection system to use for irrigation.
•Lighting – The EAC Project Team will evaluate the use of LED or solar lighting in a way that is iconic and turtle friendly.
EVALUATION CRITERIA SUMMARY
To facilitate the review of our qualifications package, we have prepared a summary to highlight our team’s unique qualifications
in accordance with the City of Sunny Isles Evaluation Criteria.
