Rafael De Arazoza, PE, PTOE, CPM – Traffic and Transportation Planning Mr. De Arazoza is the Director of Traffic Engineering and Transportation Planning with 43 years of experience. He is in charge of transportation planning projects, including reports, planning, traffic calming studies, transit planning or design. Mr. De Arazoza has held many high level management positions throughout his career. He is well-versed in traffic engineering and roadway design standards and procedures. Mr. De Arazoza is a Professional Traffic Operations Engineer. His project examples include Cobblestone Community Traffic Study, Broward County, Florida; Districtwide Traffic Operations/Safety Studies, FDOT District 6; Donald Ross Road and I-95 Interchange Operational Analysis Report (IOAR), FDOT, District 4. Jose Peña-Ramos, MS, PE – Structural Engineering Mr. Peña leads the structural engineering department and performs structural engineering calculations and reviews structural plans. His experience includes having worked for the United States Department of Urban Development, United States Coast Guard, United States Army COE, Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and as a consultant all within Florida and Puerto Rico. He has performed project engineering and structural design and support required for the preparation of plans and specifications for civil works projects including bridges, culverts, pump stations, spillways, retaining walls, and ancillary buildings. He has also experience in construction management and land development projects. He has 25 years of structural engineering experience. His project experience includes Lakeside Community Hurricane Damage Repair, Town of Medley; Cypress Weir 1 (Gold4A) Relocation Design, South Florida Water Management District; Paint Two Bridges of Turnpike Main Line over Rim Ditch Canal (C-24), Turnpike Enterprise. Michelle Leon, EI – Traffic/Transportation Ms. Leon has worked on multiple jobs obtaining traffic data for various studies. She is well-versed in hand-held data collectors regarding calibration and maintenance. She also has expertise in compiling and categorizing the data and assembling the information into a report file. She is proficient in Microsoft applications including: Word, Excel and PowerPoint, also proficient in AutoCAD and AutoCAD 3D. She has also prepared plans using Microstation and GeoPak. Ms. Leon is responsible for construction engineering inspection for infrastructure projects, which includes reviewing the contractor’s operations, field measurements, recording changes made during construction, reviewing and approving as-built conditions and documentation of construction progress on a daily basis. Jossmel Cruz Garcia, MSE – Structural Designer Mr. Garcia has over two years of experience as a Structural Designer. He is currently designing a weir, bridge, control building and miscellaneous structures for a SFWMD project near Naples. He has completed designs for a prefabricated metal building foundation, stainless steel spillway gates and platforms for the SFWMD. Mr. Cruz has designed two large retaining wall projects for the Town of Medley and a privacy wall for Inverrary Estates. Ms. Nanette Akyaz – Signalization, Signing and Marking Ms. Akyaz has over 10 years of experience and is responsible for plans preparation in both MicroStation and CAD software for roadway and civil engineering projects. She has ten years of experience in plans preparation on civil engineering projects. Her project experience includes the I-75/Griffin Road Interchange, FDOT District 4; Design/Build for the Reconstruction of SE 3rd Street, FDOT District 4; and Southern Boulevard from Forest Hill Boulevard to SR 7, Palm Beach County.
