c. A strategic CAPEX plans was started approximately eight years ago.The management
team evaluate the current marketplace and made projections as to how the company
would best service their current customer base and offer an increasingly stronger value
proposition. Two years ago we purchased a Goss Sunday 3000 press with full robotic
pallet building. This is the most technologically advanced Goss Sunday press in the
country. It was built at 75" across the web and was customized for commercial work.
Running at over 100,000 impression per hour, this press doubled the capacity of
Colonial Press. This press required an investment of over$15M.This is quite significant
for a company that has revenues at approximately$39M. In 2018 the CAPEX program
continued as we added bindery equipment to help keep up with the additional press
capacity. The future is very bright and a second Goss Sunday 3000 press is planned for
the near future
d. Environmental Sustainability:
i. Engaged environmental engineers to provide an energy baseline audit.
ii. Installation of a reverse osmosis water facility to internally generate our own fountain
solutions and distilled water for use in the facility.
iii. Decommissioning of all Freon throughout the facility, replaced with single chilling unit.
iv. Upgraded our pollution control systems to obtaining 98.8%clean air discharge.
v. Implementation of an integrated waste recovery system to recover and recycle all waste
paper in our manufacturing processes.
vi. Ongoing successful audits for our FSC and SFI chain of custody certifications
vii. Acquisition of two new 200 hp compressor with Variable Speed Drive providing an
annual electrical savings of 15%
viii. Upgraded transformers to reduce energy usage 15%
e. Quality Assurance-Quality synopsis document attached
i. Our QMS is modeled after iso 9001:2000 standards. Focused on continuous
improvement of processes and procedures. Focused on quality assurance of what we
produce. Escalation starts with the account manager and then includes the EVP of
Corporate Sales. The next step is directly with the owner,Jorge Gomez.
f. Disaster Recovery
The purpose of this business continuity plan is to prepare Colonial Press International in the
event of extended service outages caused by factors beyond our control(e.g., natural disasters,
man-made events),and to restore services to the widest extent possible in a minimum time
frame. All Colonial Press International sites are expected to implement preventive measures
whenever possible to minimize operational disruptions and to recover as rapidly as possible
when an incident occurs.
The plan identifies vulnerabilities and recommends necessary measures to prevent extended
voice communications service outages. It is a plan that encompasses all Colonial Press
International system sites and operations facilities.
Scope
This is a business continuity plan, not a daily problem resolution procedures document.
