<br /> t k., -P d�It, SECOND EXTENSION OF DECLARED LOCAL EMERGENCY
<br /> CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA
<br /> .
<br /> WHEREAS, on March 12, 2020, the City Manager declared a Local Emergency, as a
<br /> result of COVID-19; and
<br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 252.38(3)(a)5., F.S., political subdivisions have the
<br /> power and authority to declare a state of local emergency for a period of up to seven (7) days, ,
<br /> which may be extended as necessary, in seven(7) day increments; and'
<br /> WHEREAS, on March 19, 2020, the City Manager extended the Declaration of Local
<br /> Emergency for an additional seven (7) days, until March 25, 2020; and
<br /> WHEREAS, due to COVID-19, the City Manager has determined that a condition of
<br /> extreme peril of public health and welfare continues to exist, thereby necessitating the continued
<br /> state of emergency.
<br /> NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS:
<br /> 1. An emergency continues to exist throughout the City of Sunny Isles Beach; and
<br /> 2. The declared state of Local Emergency is hereby extended for an additional seven(7)days,
<br /> until April 1, 2020.
<br /> IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that during the continued existence of said emergency the
<br /> powers, functions, and duties of the City Manager/designee of the City of Sunny Isles Beach be
<br /> those prescribed by State law and the ordinances, resolutions, and approved plans of the City of
<br /> Sunny Isles Beach in order to mitigate the effects of said emergency.
