CM <br /> O <br /> til �1 <br /> T9 <br /> � M` <br /> EMERGENCY ORDER 2 AND SUPPLEMENT TO <br /> DECLARED STATE OF EMERGENCY <br /> WHEREAS, on March 12, 2020 the City Manager declared a Local Emergency as a <br /> result of COVID-19; and <br /> WHEREAS, on March 19, 2020 the City Manager extended the declared state of Local <br /> Emergency for an additional seven(7) days; and <br /> WHEREAS, on March 26, 2020 the City Manager again extended the declared state of <br /> Local Emergency for an additional seven(7)days;and <br /> WHEREAS, Miami-Dade County Mayor Gimenez, in Emergency Order No. 09-20 <br /> dated March 21, 2020, which is hereby adopted and incorporated herein by reference, ordered <br /> that hotels and motels and other commercial lodging establishments in Miami-Dade County not <br /> to accept any new reservations other than from Essential Lodgers, as that term is defined therein <br /> and below; and <br /> WHEREAS, this Emergency Order is necessary because of the propensity of the <br /> COVID-19 virus to imperil the lives and well-being of individuals both due to the possible <br /> person-to-person transmission and the virus' proclivity to attach to surfaces for a prolonged <br /> period of time rendering those surfaces damaged and unusable, thereby physically causing <br /> property damage; and <br /> WHEREAS, in order to ensure that hotels, motels, short-term rentals and other <br /> commercial lodging establishments comply with the mandate to close and to not accept any new <br /> reservations except for Essential Lodgers; and <br /> WHEREAS, in Emergency Order 10-20 dated March 24, 2020, which is hereby adopted <br /> and incorporated by reference, Miami-Dade Mayor Gimenez urged people to stay at home other <br /> than to engage in essential activities; and <br /> WHEREAS, due to the continued spread of COVID-19, it has become necessary to <br /> require people to remain at home other than to engage in essential activities. <br /> 1 <br />
