BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT AND RELEVANCE TO THIS CONTRACT (Include scope, size, and cost) <br />Environmental Assessment/Inspection Report/GIS Maps: ECS Group conducted a field visit to ascertain the absence or <br />presence of mangroves and seagrasses within the project area, which included conducting an upland inspection of the <br />mangrove fringe and an underwater investigation via snorkel along the undeveloped property at 584 Hazel Street, an <br />upland inspection of the existing structures at 594 Hazel Street and an underwater inspection within the canal from the <br />south side of the existing dock to the canal entrance. <br />The biologist swam parallel along the unconsolidated shoreline at 584 Hazel Street, which extended out approximately 20 <br />feet from mean high water (MHW) line. Within the canal, an approximate 50 foot wide by 250 foot long area was inspected, <br />starting from the south side of the existing dock located at 594 Hazel Street to the canal entrance. Multiple transects (at 25, <br />50, 75, 100, 125, 150, 175, 200 and 225 linear feet) were conducted starting at and perpendicular to the existing dock, boat <br />basin and seawall on the east side of the canal. During the investigation, the locations, types and percent cover of <br />seagrass were documented. Any wildlife or other benthic resources observed. A report was prepared which included <br />narrative text, graphics, a GIS map of seagrass locations and permitting requirements.
