Firms from section involved with this project <br />A.(1) FIRM NAME (2) FIRM LOCATION (City & State) (3) ROLE <br />CES Consultants, Inc.Miami & Pembroke Pines, FL Civil Engineering Analysis & Design <br /> STANDARD FORM 330 (REV. 8/2016) PAGE 3 <br />CES provided hydraulic analysis and engineering <br />design for a closed stormwater management system <br />and roadway reconstruction of approximately 0.75 <br />mile along SW 27th Avenue from US-1 to South <br />Bayshore Drive. The purpose of the project was to <br />provide drainage and traffic improvements through <br />roadway widening, median installations, redesign of <br />intersections, and improvements to drainage, parking, <br />lighting, signalization and landscaping in the Coconut <br />Grove neighborhood of the City of Miami. The land <br />use is a combination of residential and commercial. <br />Since the roadway is part of an older, well established <br />neighborhood, many different utilities are installed <br />within the right of way. The project corridor includes <br />a 30-inch water main, smaller water mains, gas, <br />multiple fiber-optic cable duct banks, sanitary sewers <br />and force mains, requiring extensive utility and <br />interagency coordination. Other complicating factors <br />in the design were the elevations, which included low grades and a high groundwater table at <br />the southern end of the project directly adjacent to Biscayne Bay, higher elevations in the mid- <br />section, and “normal” elevations around the northern end. <br />The final cross-section of the roadway included additional vehicular travel lanes, sidewalk, <br />curbing, drainage, on-street parking, a bicycle lane, and a traffic calming circle. The design <br />required a clean transition through planned driveway and property harmonization between the <br />new roadway and the existing private property ingress and egress to match the new roadway <br />elevation, width and contours. Additionally, the project required intensive utility coordination to <br />execute the necessary utility relocations, including coordinating with FPL to remove the existing <br />power poles and install all their assets below ground. <br />The stormwater drainage design was developed in accordance with the guidelines set forth by <br />the County and the Florida Department of Transportation. The design consists of approximately <br />70 drainage structures to capture and convey all the stormwater, 3,000 LF of piping and <br />2,000 LF of French drains divided into eight (8) independent, closed systems.
