REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS NO. 20-07-01
CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL CONSULTING SERVICES (CCNA)

TAB D: PROJECT APPROACH AND UNDERSTANDING

PROJECT MANAGEMENT PLAN
At the heart of every consulting company are individuals working day to day to successfully achieve
their client’s goals, and this is precisely what sets Craven Thompson & Associates apart.
▪ Craven Thompson is an efficient business with a very select group of staff hand-picked for their
remarkable capabilities, knowledge, and ability to perform as a seamlessly cohesive team.
▪ Each contract is given a main point of contact:
◦ Patrick J. Gibney, P.E., Vice President of Engineering, will be the main point of contact for
Sunny Isles Beach. He will be the Project Manager and Lead Civil Engineer for the Civil
Engineers Category; and for the Construction Engineering and Inspection Services Category.
◦ Richard Pryce, P.S.M., Vice President of Surveying & GIS, will be the Lead Surveyor/GIS
specialist for the Surveyor & Mapping category.
These individuals will lead all communication and collaboration between the City, Craven
Thompson staff, agencies, sub -consultants, and contractors.
▪ With each project being assigned a project manager (specific to that discipline), the City can be
assured that the project will remain a priority and never get pushed to the back burner. Our
client’s deadlines, budgets, and end goals matter to us as much as they matter to the client.
▪ Our staff knows that the greatest capital a company has is its reputation, and each individual
employe d by Craven Thompson guards that reputation as they would their own. This means
customer service, communication, and quality results are our primary concerns throughout the
entire course of a project.
The people who make up Craven Thompson pride themselves on maintaining close relationships with
their clients. It is for this reason that our customers rely on us to provide honest, dependable
guidance and why the majority of our work results from knowledge of our reputation and repeat
clientele. Craven Thompson commits to the City of Sunny Isles Beach that if selected, we will do
everything within our control to meet the City’s time requirements.
Craven Thompson communicates with our clients on a
regular basis in person, via email and phone to ensure
that the client is always aware of the latest project
developments and any proposed deviations from scope
or budget. The project scope will be set forth by the City.
Continuing services projects are almost always
infrastructure rehabilitation projects, and as such,
almost always encounter unforeseen issues regardless
of the degree of detail to which the original scope is set
forth. Only if the scope is well defined by the City and
Craven Thompson, will the project be accomplished
without inappropriate requests for Request for Change
D | Page 1
