REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS NO. 20-07-01
CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL CONSULTING SERVICES (CCNA)

TAB D: PROJECT APPROACH AND UNDERSTANDING

Orders or without unforeseen cost occurrences. Again, good communication is vital to the scope
definition.
We also acknowledge the major stakeholder in any capital improvement project is the residents.
Through effective public presentations (public outreach program) and developing working
relationships with residents, officials and regulators, we see projects through to a favorable
conclusion.
Through scores of a wide variety of governmental projects, Craven Thompson has gained an
invaluable skill set and extensive experience in providing quality professional services for an
enormous diversity of projects for a variety of municipalities. These projects have ranged in size and
complexity from small, single-task assignments to large, multi-scaled projects involving coordination
of numerous sub-consultants and/or specialized services.
Many of Craven Thompson’s staff that will be involved in the City of Sunny Isles Beach projects have
been providing professional consulting services worry-free in South Florida for over thirty (30) years.
Through these years of experience, these staff members understand the importance of meeting the
City’s time and budget requirements.
The overall Project Manager/Client Contact for this project will be Patrick Gibney, P.E. (in addition, he
will also be the Project Manager for Civil Engineering, and CEI). Mr. Gibney takes an active role in the
day-to-day design, permitting and construction is very responsive to his clients, and is very quick to
resolve any issues which may arise.
In order to keep projects on track to meet time and
budget requirements, Mr. Gibney will be in regular
contact with the City representative through various
means. We believe that having regular project meetings
during the design and permitting process between City
staff and the Craven Thompson team would be mutually
beneficial. Face-to-face meetings tend to be more
productive than conference calls. Within two hours
from notification, Craven Thompson team personnel
would be available for any meeting. The Craven
Thompson team members are readily accessible for
meetings, by phone, or via email during regular hours,
7:00 am to 6:00 pm (and outside of regular hours
should it become necessary).
Between meetings we will also be in contact through phone and email. Craven Thompson will supply
the City with a contact list of team members at the beginning of the project. We will respond to the
City’s calls or emails within four hours of receiving them at the latest and sooner if possible. We will
be available for emergency (non-scheduled) meetings within a very short notice.
If requested, Mr. Gibney will prepare a project status report which will be transmitted to City staff.
The report will detail tasks completed (and percentages complete of tasks remaining), compliance
with the design/permitting schedule, issues with potential impact to project schedule and/or budget,
and any comments from agencies having jurisdiction.
D | Page 2
