REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS NO. 20-07-01
CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL CONSULTING SERVICES (CCNA)

TAB E: QUALIFICATION INFORMATION & ASSIGNED PERSONNEL

SIZE OF WORKFORCE AND AVAILABILITY OF PERSONNEL PER LOCATION
We are a seventy-two (72) person corporation with offices in Fort Lauderdale and Delray Beach with
twenty-nine (29) civil engineers (14 are registered), three (3) professional surveyors and mappers, six
(6) field crews, and four (4) registered landscape architects. All personnel are in our Fort Lauderdale
office with the exception of four (4) engineers, two (2) of whom are registered.
We have a high degree of availability of all of our personnel. Our projected workload is anticipated to
be well below the 2019 level for the next twelve months as a result of the pandemic. We should be
at a company-wide utilization of approximately 50% at that time. Our surveying, engineering and CEI
staff is extremely underutilized at this time.
After that time (one year), assuming no new major projects are initiated, we anticipate that we will
improve slightly to roughly 55% utilization, still well below our capacity. Our surveyors, engineers,
and construction services personnel will be able to devote all necessary time to any projects
assigned by Sunny Isles Beach. Based on our current and projected workload, the City can be
assured that Craven will provide the staff as and the resources necessary to complete the services
on time and within the budget requirements
LOCAL PERMITTING EXPERIENCE
Approximately seventy-five percent (75%) of Craven Thompson’s work is with governmental entities.
Since inception (1962), the company has performed civil engineering and surveying services
(landscape architecture since 1985, and G.I.S. since 2006) for, as well as permitted and obtained
approvals through many governmental entities. We currently have thirty -five (35) Continuing
Services Contracts in the tri-county area.
Our most recent permitting experience with governmental entities for projects within Miami-Dade
County has come through contracts with the cities of North Miami Beach, North Miami, Miami
Gardens, Miami Springs, Miami Beach, and Aventura.
For our Honey Hill Water System Betterment Project (Watermain), and Government Center
Commercial Alleyways 2” Watermain Replacement Project we permitted through RER-DERM for our
potable water permit. We also received approval from the fire department, and the County Health
Department. For the Master Pump Station #4 Project and the Velda Farms Forcemain Project we
permitted through FDEP. These projects have been permitted and have not yet been released for
construction by the City.
In North Miami we recently permitted the NE 5th Place Watermain Project and the NW 8th Avenue
Watermain Project RER-DERM for the fire department, and also the County Health Department.
In Miami Gardens, permitting for water and sewer are either through North Miami Beach or WASD.
We have been actively working on roadway and drainage projects for the City. We recently obtained
Class II drainage permits through RER-DERM for Vista Verde Phases 1A & 1B, and Vista Verde
Phases 1D, 2, & 3. We also obtained approvals of our pavement marking & signage through Miami -
Dade Traffic for these two projects. We have also coordinated regularly with WASD for projects in
their service area within the City to ensure that we avoid conflicts with existing or future lines.
E | Page 11
