STANDARD FORM 330 (8/2016) PAGE 3

A beach performance evaluation was also completed as part of the Phase II
Study to quantify shoreline changes and sediment transport between Port
Everglades and Baker’s Haulover Inlet. The regional evaluation of sediment
transport was completed to quantify the amount of sand movement along the
beaches of Sunny Isles Beach, as well as along the updrift and downdrift
beaches and adjacent to the Newport Pier. A review of innovative technologies for
beach management was conducted to evaluate their effectiveness for the
beaches of Sunny Isles Beach. A beach management strategy was developed
which included beach nourishment, coastal structures, data collection, and
outreach.

Coastal Systems has also provided consulting services to the City of Sunny Isles
Beach regarding evaluation of potential alternative sand sources for placement on
the beach, including material excavated from upland development sites within a
noncontiguous municipality. These services included sand compatibility review and permitting strategy.

Coastal Systems conducted an underwater investigation of submerged breakwaters located offshore of the City of Sunny Isles
Beach. The structural assessment evaluated the condition of the existing breakwaters, collected representative measurements
of the existing structures, and summarized the findings in an Engineering Assessment Report. The results confirmed significant
settlement and displacement of the armor stone had occurred likely reducing the effectiveness of the structures for shoreline
stabilization.
25.
