BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT AND RELEVANCE TO THIS CONTRACT (Include scope, size, and cost)

Coastal Systems evaluated the condition of over 8 miles of
existing bulkheads throughout the City of West Palm Beach.
For each bulkhead, Coastal Systems mobilized a team led
by an engineer and conducted an above and below water
assessment of the existing bulkhead and structures to
evaluate their condition. Coastal Systems prepared an
engineering report, providing a structural assessment of the
remaining useful life of the existing bulkhead as well as
recommendations for repairs and/or replacement. The
condition of the structure was rated in accordance with the
American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Underwater
Investigation Manual. The report included an investigation
plan and photographs to illustrate the observed conditions
as well as a construction cost estimate for both repair and
replacement
options.

The City later contracted Coastal Systems to provide additional
evaluations of previously inspected seawalls and assess the need for
repair or replacement of the most critically damaged sections. Coastal
Systems evaluated the remaining useful life of the chosen sections and
compared the estimated construction costs of replacing these sections
as opposed to repairing periodically over their probable lifespan.

25.
