<br />Coastal Systems is providing civil design
<br />and environmental permitting services for
<br />Bayshore Park, a community park in
<br />Miami Beach. Bayshore Park sets
<br />precedent in the City by promoting
<br />sustainable open space and water
<br />management practices. The purpose is
<br />to create a park of natural beauty for
<br />community enjoyment and enrichment,
<br />reflecting the City’s culture and ecology
<br />while serving as a model of sustainability,
<br />stewardship, and resilience.
<br />
<br />The proposed 20-acre park is planned to
<br />comprise of walking trails, a 3-acre lake,
<br />wetlands, boardwalks, open lawns, a
<br />playground, a dog park, tennis courts,
<br />pavilions, a Vita-Course, a yoga garden, water features and a promenade. The park design will incorporate recyclable materials, as
<br />well as solar-powered lighting fixtures. This project will treat stormwater runoff for the surrounding neighborhood watershed, by
<br />providing onsite water storage and pretreatment. The drainage system design incorporates green infrastructure and lake retention
<br />capacities that consider higher water tables associated
<br />with sea level rise predictions.
<br />
<br />Coastal Systems is providing conceptual site civil design,
<br />design development plans, construction documents, civil
<br />technical specifications, and an earthworks plan. Coastal
<br />Systems will apply for and obtain environmental permits
<br />from Miami-Dade County Department of Environmental
<br />Resource Management (DERM), Florida Department of
<br />Environmental Protection (FDEP), National Pollutant
<br />Discharge Elimination System (NPDES), Miami-Dade
<br />County Health Department, and City of Miami Beach
<br />Public Works.
