As a lead safety engineer, Mr. Rivera had to familiarize himself <br />with civil engineering and construction practices and enforce safety standards <br />to contractors that performed work at several coalmines were he led the safety <br />programs. Mr. Rivera joined PDS as an engineer in 2008 and has been the <br />office Safety Manager since then, also operating AutoCAD Civil 3D. He is <br />responsible for maintaining our CAD standards and ensuring that every project <br />that is ready to be delivered meets those standards. Mr. Rivera also provides <br />CEI support performing field inspections, daily reports and monitoring <br />construction progress. <br /> <br />KEY EXPERIENCE <br /> <br />ADA and Transit Improvements, Broward County, FL. <br />The ADA Transit Improvements project was a multi-year project consisting of <br />designing and Constructing Transit Improvements through-out Broward County <br />to be compliant with ADA guidelines and regulations. One of the main objectives <br />of the program is to provide ADA accessibility to thousands of bus stops within <br />the County. The project scope includes surveying, engineering design and CEI <br />for improvements at bus stops such as landing pads, shelter pads, curb & <br />gutter, sidewalk restoration, sidewalk transitions, etc. Mr. Rivera’s duties and <br />responsibilities included the assistance preparation of engineering design <br />drawings utilizing AutoCAD Civil 2012 computer aided software and performing <br />periodic field visits to ensure contractor’s adherence to construction documents. <br /> <br /> B Bus Bay Improvements (Broward Blvd. & NW 116th Ave.), Broward, FL <br />Mr. Rivera was responsible for the initial site visit to determine extent of design <br />work, performed existing condition survey, assisted in the engineering drawings <br />preparation for the removal of existing bus bay, roadside design of <br />approximately 600 ft of roadway to accommodate a 10 ft unpaved shoulder, wet <br />detention areas and pedestrian sidewalks. Responsibilities also included the <br />preparation of utility plans to depict existing utilities within the area and <br />conducting periodic field inspections and inspection daily reports. <br /> <br />Bus Bay Improvements (SR 858 & SW 148th Ave.), Broward County, FL <br />Mr. Rivera was responsible for the initial site visit to determine extent of design <br />work, performed existing condition survey, assisted in the engineering drawings <br />preparation for the design of a new bus bay which included the geometric <br />design layout for the new bus bay, roadside design of approximately 300 ft of <br />roadway to include a 6 ft paved shoulder, 5 ft bike lane, dry retention areas and <br />pedestrian sidewalks. Responsibilities also included the preparation of utility <br />plans to depict existing utilities within the area and conducting periodic field <br />inspections and inspection daily reports. <br /> <br />NE 10th Street & NE 7th Avenue Improvements, Dania Beach, FL <br />This project to extend NE 10th Street to the east to intersect with NE 7th Avenue <br />and reconstruction of NE 7th Avenue from this intersection to the north to the <br />intersection of Taylor Road required field inspections conducted by Mr. Rivera. <br />Project included water and sewer improvements along these roadway corridors. <br />Mr. Rivera worked with Broward County Environmental Regulation Division, <br />Broward County Health Department and City of Dania Beach for Project <br />permitting and close-out. Mr. Rivera was responsible for the generation of As- <br />Built drawings for roadway widening including water and sewer utility <br />components on this project. <br /> <br />161
