1 <br />VANDERWEIL <br />Project Approach and Understanding <br />Section D <br />Scope of Services <br />Vanderweil is pleased to submit for the below services for the City of Sunny Isles, <br />Continuing Professional Consulting Services contract. These services are also noted <br />in the completed 6.1 Acknowledgment Form enclosed in the attachments. <br />• 3- Electrical Engineers <br />• 6- Mechanical, HVAC, & Plumbing Engineers <br />Vanderweil will provide mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineering design <br />services to support the project scope. <br />Project Undrestanding <br />Vanderweil understands that the City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida seeks to secure <br />qualified and experienced professional consulting firms to submit statements of <br />qualifications to provide services as required under a non-exclusive continuing <br />services contract. It is understood that the city will periodically issue specific projects <br />and assignments to the retained consultants on an as -needed basis. <br />Project and Management Approach <br />Vanderweil has in-depth communication processes for checks and balances to <br />ensure that there is constant communication to engage the City of Sunny Isles <br />Beach through weekly project updates and to ensure standards and Owner project <br />requirements (OPR) are fully integrated into the contract documents. <br />Vanderweil utilizes MS Teams for project video conference calls along with Newforma <br />for file management for tracking open issues, coordination of items, site visit reports, <br />QC reviews, owner comments, RFIs, submittals, and project schedule. Our team <br />works with MEP systems manufacturers on all projects to ensure that the most <br />cost-effective systems and approaches are taken while taking into consideration <br />maintenance requirements and energy usage for each system. <br />Vanderweil also has a tried and true QA/QC process during all phases of the project <br />which includes senior engineers in each discipline that review the project and ensure all <br />design options are fully evaluated for each MEP system. This helps to determine the best <br />design approach to the project while keeping cost, space, and maintenance in mind. This <br />process has proven to help keep project costs in line with the owner's budget. <br />Project Cost and Schedule <br />Vanderweil controls our professional engineering / consulting services (cost <br />management) through a disciplined project management approach of: <br />• Identify the project scope <br />• Develop the man-hour (effort) to support the scope <br />• Monitor progress and provide feedback on changes in scope and/or schedule <br />that may affect our performance commitments <br />We monitor and have the capabilities to report on our progress and financial <br />expenditures (labor and expenses) through our accounting platform, BST. We are also <br />utilizing Newforma on more projects for document control, project team tracking, task <br />lists/assignments, as well a schedule tracking of key milestones and deliverables. <br />7 <br />
