Ms. Pfeiffer supports the County’s island-wide shore protection program including the federal and County-managed projects. She supported design, permitting and construction for the 2011 & 2014 nourishment projects, and the 2012 Geotextile Tube project. She supported the County as EOR to obtain FEMA funding for hurricane impacts in 2016 and 2017. She is overseeing the Passage Key Inlet Management Study. Senior Coastal Engineer/Project Manager. Ms. Pfeiffer has worked on City of Sarasota projects for 10 years with former and current firms on a number of Lido Key beach nourishments , including multiple FEMA supported storm damage repair projects. For the 2019 Lido Key Beach Repair Project, she provided construction oversight and engineering certification of the completed project, constructed with FEMA funding. Senior Coastal Engineer. Ms. Pfeiffer was project manager for the County for 2016-2017 while at a previous firm. She conducted engineering analysis for multiple post-project monitoring reports for the Sector 3 Dune Repair Project. She provided technical review for the Sector 3/Sector 5/Sector 7 Hurricane Matthew Storm Damage Reports for FEMA. While at CPE she provided technical review of the Feasibility Evaluation Report for Sector 5 Nourishment, completed in 2020. Senior Coastal Engineer. Ms. Pfeiffer prepared the design and permit application for dredging of Longboat Pass where sand placement is shared between the neighboring islands, Anna Maria Island and Longboat Key, and will be used for the upcoming Coquina Beach project. The design accounts for minimization of impacts to natural and artificial reef. The study was prepared to facilitate and integrate the ongoing management of the Pass and the adjacent beaches. Senior Coastal Engineer/Project Manager. Ms. Pfeiffer worked with the County over several years at a previous firm to evaluate options to install permanent groins to reduce erosion at Upham Beach. The project included development of engineering alternatives, advanced wave breaking modeling, and permitting assistance. Additional efforts included permitting, project bidding and construction observations. The project construction was completed in 2018.
