City of Sunny Isles Beach | RFQ No. 20-07-01 | Continuing Professional Consulting Services (CCNA)
D. Final Design: Once the design is substantially
complete, the electrical engineer will have a final
design review meeting with the City and project team
to go over all of the details of the project and make
any required final adjustments. This may include
a site visit to examine proposed pole locations,
trenching paths, review of any subsurface utility
investigation (soft dig) information, and evaluate any
potential conflicts with existing or future facilities.
The final set of plans shall include electrical notes
and specifications, electrical site plan, electrical
riser diagram, electrical details for the proposed
equipment and pole modifications, photometric site
plan and a set of structural plans and calculations to
confirm compliance with all applicable windloading
requirements including the current edition of the
Florida Building Code and Broward County High
Velocity Hurricane Zones.
E. Engineering support during bidding and
construction phases: During the bidding and
construction phases of the project, our electrical
and construction engineering staff is well
accustomed to providing in-depth support to the
project administrators. Whether responding to
RFIs, assisting with contractor building department
questions, issuing clarifications of the contract
documents, reviewing shop drawings, attending
construction progress meetings, or performing
construction inspections, our staff will always be
ready, willing, and able to play a significant role during
the bid and construction phases. Our experience
has been that the most successful projects are those
which have a high level of engineering involvement
and support during the bid and construction phases
– this would be our targeted approach to this project.
This approach tends to create a ‘team’ mentality
where all of the players involved become actively
engaged in accomplishing a common goal – the
successful completion of the project.
In addition, since CGA is committed to unmatched
customer service and satisfaction, we make it a
priority to provide quick and effective responses
to all client correspondence or requests – thereby
emphasizing our appreciation, respect, and
commitment to the client. The overarching goal
of our consulting approach is to build a seamless
relationship with the client that is based on open and
effective communication – a relationship driven by
teamwork, cooperation, and common goals.
The approach to projects requiring electrical
engineering support for proposed buildings,
treatment plants upgrades, irrigation controllers,
and proposed pump stations for stormwater, water,
and wastewater is similar to the above approach;
however, the existing systems would be reviewed in
a site visit with City staff to determine what upgrades
are needed in order to support the proposed
improvements. The electrical engineering design is
reviewed during the quality control review process
with any other involved disciplines to ensure the
construction documents are coordinated.
12
