BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT AND RELEVANCE TO THIS CONTRACT (Include scope, size, and cost)
Sugarloaf School was undergoing a major renovation and expansion. As part of the
design/construction planning effort the locations of underground utilities were needed within the
boundaries of the entire school property. The investigation was performed using ground
penetrating radar (GPR) and electronic utility locators (EUL). Underground utilities were marked
on the ground surface using standards specified by the American Public Works Association
(APWA). Study results were also documented on scaled AutoCAD site map. A global positioning
system with sub-foot accuracy was used to determine the utility locations. Results were presented
in both AutoCAD and GIS formats.

Cost: $14,000 Size: 14 Acres Project Manager: Michael Wilson, CCM, LEED, AP, BD+C
25. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT AND RELEVANCE TO THIS CONTRACT (Include scope, size, and cost)
The project site was a former landfill that was being planned for rede velopment. There were several objectives to the geophysical
investigation: 1) Determine the lateral extent of buried metallic debris, 2) Determine the boundaries of the former landfill, 3) Determine
the depth to limestone and 4) Identify areas with elevated levels of gamma radiation which would have been associated with debris that
was possibly buried at the site.

The geophysical investigation was performed using time domain electromagnetics (EM-61), frequency domain electromagnetics (EM-31),
magnetometry, electrical resistivity imaging (ERI) and gamma radiation meters. The geophysical investigation identified two large areas
of buried metallic debris and the overall boundaries of the landfill. The margins of a former filled pond which was outside o f the actual
landfill were also established. Depth to limestone was determined to range from 10 to 25 feet below land surface. No areas of elevated
gamma radiation were identified. Cost: $17,500 Size: 11 Acres Project Manager: Mr. Craig Fusaro, REM

25.
