Controlling firm overhead, and therefore maintaining competitive fees.
2. Controlling hours and expenses on project work.
3. Negotiating reasonable rates and actively managing subcontractors.

GBTS is audited annually to maintain its bonding and credit line, so we have
the opportunity to highly scrutinize our overhead expenses with the help
of third party auditors. GBTS operates off of an annual budget, and we
track actual performance relative to that budget on a monthly basis using
our Deltek Vision project management/accounting software system. We
are able to monitor closely our overhead costs, and make appropriate
“real time” decisions to control those costs so that we can continue to
offer our clients fair and reasonable fees.

Active and continuous project management is essential to controlling
hours and expenses on projects. As indicated above, GBTS utilizes Deltek Vision business management software
developed specifically for the engineering and professional service firm to assist our project managers. This program is
a relational database program that is linked to our General Ledger accounting software that provides the Project
Manager with real-time (at their desktop) information as to the labor and expenses charged to any project . The
system will automatically compare the job costs by task or phase with budgets. This system also permits multiple
Figure 1. Project Process Diagram
