8 TAB D - PROJECT APPROACH & UNDERSTANDING KEITH has the administrative know-how and the staff to manage large and small work authorizations, the management skills to know when to engage, and the technical expertise to ensure top quality is always delivered to the City. Our approach is categorized into the following three (3) general phases: Exploration Phase – The process of becoming familiar with an area through extensive analysis. Inspiration Phase – The process of developing ideas emanating from the exploration process Implementation Phase – The process of activating a decision or plan. Each phase builds on the previous and seeks to combine a triple bottom line perspective, with an emphasis on Social, Ecology and Economic influences. This context-based design approach considers multiple facets of the development process to result in a resilient solution that is cultivated for each project and task. SINGLE POINT OF CONTACT Our firm understands the importance of a timely completion of any engineering design request. Our experience with similar contracts allows us to perform effectively on a contract like this one. This is accomplished by having a single point-of-contact for the City to simply reduce miscommunication and work as an extension of the City. In this contract, we have assigned Mr. Mark Castano, PE, as the Project Manager. He will be assigned to the City of Sunny Isles Beach in this capacity for the life of the contract to assure continuity and reliability to City staff. PROJECT MANAGER When approaching any work order assigned, certain factors and initiatives are always considered and implemented. Mr. Mark Castano, PE, serving as the Project Manager for this contract, will be responsible for directing our team members to undertake the correct approach for each assignment. UNDERSTANDING THE SCOPE OF SERVICES The scope of services defines the nature and volume of work to be completed. The initial step is the most critical to the success of any project. Project Manager, Mr. Mark Castano, PE, will meet to discuss all nuances of the assignments with the City staff, as well as the proposed scope of services, determine what documents the City has on file and discuss any potential issues such as access restrictions, traffic levels, safety needs, anticipated schedule, public concerns, etc. This meeting is critical to ensure there are no misunderstandings and no assumptions being made by either party regarding the final needs and goals of the City. Our approach to every project begins with a “No Excuses” methodology. MANAGEMENT & DESIGN APPROACH The KEITH team will implement a rigorous communication protocol among all project participants. The basis of our management approach will focus on managing communication between our team and the City, as follows: Provide Single Point of Contact – Project Manager, Mr. Mark Castano, PE. Stress early planning and scheduling. Establish the involved group of stakeholders, and provide clear lines of communication to all, as required. Understand the objectives of the project and assure that all project stakeholders have the same level of commitment and expectation in understanding the scope of work. Schedule periodic progress meetings. Maintain strong, ongoing working relationships with the City staff.
