Description: The utility is replacing filter process piping <br />at the lime softening plant (near the new catwalk), and <br />they have detected a small section of loosened concrete <br />decking above the project area. In addition, several areas <br />throughout the upper concrete deck have cracks. These <br />were noticed after the deck was pressure cleaned. Project Title: Fire Station 111 (City of Delray Beach HQ) <br />C. Description: The existing two story ā€œUā€ shape building <br />(Fire Rescue Headquarters) is approximately 10,965 <br />square feet with a one-story apparatus building that <br />is approximately 8,841 square feet. The building is <br />constructed of reinforced concrete masonry with a <br />reinforced concrete ground floor on spread and strip <br />footings and a second floor consisting of open web steel <br />joists with metal decking and a reinforced concrete <br />topping. The roof consists of a combination of steel joists, <br />and wood trusses. The City proposed to have the building <br />evaluated for current code requirements for wind loads <br />of a Category 5 hurricane and identify structural upgrades <br />necessary for compliance. <br />D.
