The following principles are also part of our design philosophy:
We see the big picture. We understand our community, the environmental aspects, political
concerns, and economic challenges that surround and define a project, which are essential skills
we possess.
We know the process. We know the engineering standards, permitting, and regulatory process
with the City and local regulatory agencies. Our designs respond to these constraints so that our
projects are approved in minimal time, with regulatory agencies buy-in and community support.
We are creative: Every design problem holds the opportunity for a creative, innovative, and
elegant solution. We thoroughly explore the possibilities to create a design that is beautiful,
economical, and functional. All while, keeping in mind its feasibility, constructability, and cost.
And finally, we get things done: A project is not successful unless it’s actually built on time and
within budget. Our design and technical skills, combined with great project management skills,
allow us to transform great ideas into reality.
QUALITY ASSURANCE
Our close-nit team is very familiar with one another,
which allows us to function with a minimum loss of
motion. Deadlines are expected to be met and attention
to detail is carefully observed. With every assignment,
we endeavor we strive to advance our services to a level
that is state-of-the-art. Cost control is managed with the
same computerized precision that is applied to
developing solutions for engineering challenges.
For this project, as with all our projects, we constantly perform and monitor quality control. Our
project engineers routinely review all design and technical performance. Proper documentation
of all work and calculations is required and drawing presentations are reviewed.
Weekly project meetings are scheduled, and our staff and project managers review the status
and quality of work before any submittal to the City or regulatory agency. Thorough reviews of all
work and drawings prior to submittal assure that only the highest quality of work is accepted.
Finally, and most important in assuring quality, is our knowledge of the work to be done. All our
team members have previous experience with similar projects and are familiar with the
requirements of future projects. We have the resources needed and maintain excellent working
relationships with the regulatory agencies. The City’s staff will not need to waste valuable time
guiding our group. There is no learning curve.
SUSTAINABLE DESIGN
As environmental issues have a greater impact on our projects, it is more and more important
than ever that we incorporate sustainable designs and planning. The City of Sunny Isles Beach,
being a coastal community, will be great affected by Global Warning and Sea-Level Rise (SLR).
7
