<br />CMA has assembled a team of professionals and technicians with experience and expertise in the areas
<br />required to meet the goals and objectives of the City of Sunny Isles. We have all the professionals needed
<br />to provide a wide range of technical services to the City. For detailed information please refer to our team’s

<br />Jose Acosta, P.E., F.ASCE has over 22 years of design and project management
<br />experience in various industries, including municipal continuing service contracts,
<br />K-12 education, higher education, healthcare, transportation, and commercial/
<br />residential/industrial private development. His background includes neighborhood
<br />improvement projects, streetscape enhancements, utility relocation, on- and off -
<br />site infrastructure design, bidding assistance, and construction administration
<br />services for several municipalities throughout Florida.
<br />Gregory MendeZ, P.E. has more than 23 years of civil engineering experience in site
<br />and infrastructural development type projects for public and private facilities. He
<br />has extensive utilities design experience and is also very experienced with fast
<br />track projects. His experience includes water, drainage and sewer designs, design
<br />reviews, managing designs and construction budgets, managing fi eld inspection
<br />staff and managing client relations.
<br />Safi ya Brea, P.E., LEED AP has over 19 years of experience with neighborhood
<br />improvement projects, including the design of roadways, sidewalks, drainage,
<br />water, and wastewater infrastructure. As a senior civil engineer, she has managed
<br />projects ranging from thousands of dollars to multi-million dollar, large-scale
<br />neighborhood improvement programs. Ms. Brea has managed and designed
<br />streetscape improvements, roundabouts, lift station, stormwater improvements
<br />and master plans, and booster pump station basis of design reports. Her duties
<br />include construction management, managing GIS and Autocad design work, water
<br />modeling, sewer modeling, and report preparation for municipalities throughout
<br />Florida.
<br />Brent Whitfi eld, P.E., ENV SP, with over 16 years of professional experience, has
<br />worked for a variety of public sector clients at the City, County, and State level.
<br />Mr. Whitfi eld has maintained a commitment to serving our communities both
<br />professionally and personally serving on the boards of professional societies and
<br />civic organizations. In an academic capacity, Mr. Whitfi eld’s previous experience
<br />includes a research assistantship at the University of Florida where he was the
<br />primary author on a December 2006 paper in the Journal of Hydrometeorology.
<br />Jennifer Smith, P.E. is currently serving as a senior engineer with CMA. Her 14
<br />years of experience in the civil engineering fi eld includes GIS and AutoCAD design
<br />work for several municipalities. Current duties include watermain, sanitary sewer,
<br />and lift station design, and permitting; drainage modeling, design, and permitting;
<br />as well as GIS modeling. Ms. Smith has been an active member of the American
<br />Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) since 2002 and was the recipient of the 2019
<br />Young Engineer of the Year for the ASCE Florida Section.
