Brief description of project and relevance to this contract (Include scope, size, and cost)

Cummins Cederberg was retained to perform an assessment of the shoreline and island resiliency for
the entire Town of Bay Harbor Islands (Town). The shoreline assessment covered over 20,000 feet of
shoreline, which included seawalls, rock revetments fronting roads, residential areas, docks, bridges,
and an important causeway connecting the Town to the mainland. The structural condition of the entire
Town perimeter was assessed and rated based on industry standard rating for shoreline stabilization.
Color coded maps were prepared illustrating the varying condition as well as types of seawall for easy
interpretation by Town staff. Property specific report cards developed with information of potential
deterioration and guidance for rehabilitation. The property cards were subsequently distributed to all
waterfront property owners.

LiDAR survey data was processed by Cummins Cederberg to provide a 3-dimensional elevation map of
the entire Town. An analysis of water levels was conducted. This included prediction of seal level rise
along with tidal data analysis. Predicted tidal observations were compared to actual observed
conditions. This was used to assess the vulnerability of the Town as it relates to sea level rise and
storm impacts.

25.
