Brief description of project and relevance to this contract (Include scope, size, and cost)

Sunset Harbour Yacht Club is a luxury 125-slip marina located in Miami Beach and caters to vessels
ranging from 45 to 150 feet in length. The marina structures consist of concrete slabs, piles, and caps,
which had experience extreme deuteriation.

Cummins Cederberg was initially retained to conduct an above and below water condition assessment
of the existing dock components to evaluate existing and future maintenance requirements. The
Cummins Cederberg engineering team performed an in-depth inspection noting magnitude and location
various deterioration observed.

As part of the assessment, the engineering team noted that an existing wave attenuator accelerated
deterioration, as the intended reflection of incoming waves also resulted in salt spray to bottom of deck
slabs. Cummins Cederberg’s staff is trained to not only identify the deterioration but also pinpoint the
cause of the deterioration.

Based on the inspection findings, Cummins Cederberg performed engineering design of recommended
repairs, and processed the proposed marine works through applicable environmental regulatory
agencies (e.g. DERM, FDEP, and USACE).Cummins Cederberg further assisted with the bid
solicitation process, marine contractor selection and construction administration. Construction was
performed on time and within 10% of the original construction estimate developed by a Cummins
Cederberg as part of the initial inspection.

Following successful efforts on the repair project,
Cummins Cederberg was retained to provide engineering
design, regulatory permitting, and construction
administration for the replacement of the E-dock with
upgraded modern materials. As a testament to long lasting
Client relationships, Cummins Cederberg continues to
support Sunset Harbour Yacht Club through today and has
been a trusted consultant providing professional
engineering and construction management services on
various projects since 2013.

Construction Amount: $1.25M
(estimated on completed work)
25.
