The purpose of the geotechnical investigation <br />was to determine soil conditions for replacement of the gas transmission line. Using truck and ATV mounted <br />drill rigs, we performed 184 SPT borings ranging from 60 feet to 120 feet. Various borings were cored for <br />limestone samples. Navigating among existing above and below ground utilities was a requirement on the <br />project. The purpose of this geotechnical study was to <br />determine the drilled shaft lengths for the Selmon West extension project. With truck mounted drill rigs, we <br />performed 250 SPT borings ranging from 90 feet to 200 feet, sampling every 2.5 feet. Upon completion <br />each bore hole was tremmie grouted. Our role consisted of providing the design team <br />with geotechnical services in support of the reconstruction of the Jacksonville Beach Fishing Pier. Site and <br />subsurface data were collected within the proposed offshore pier footprint area. Laborator y testing was <br />performed to facilitate classification of samples and to determine engineering indexes. Testing included <br />Atterberg limit testing, particle size distribution and unit weight determinations.
