ARCHITECT – ENGINEER QUALIFICATIONS Part I – Contract-Specific Qualifications to supplement the available data on the various features of the C-11 Impoundment, including embankments, as well as several structures along the project area. Our wetlands experience allowed us to be minimally invasive at the project location. With our amphibious mounted drill rig and support equipment, we conducted soil investigations by performing SPT and core drilling. Large scale DRI tests were perfo rmed on exposed limestone surfaces. All samples were photographed and recorded. Upon completion of the geotechnical borings, each bore hole to surface was tremmie grouted. e. The purpose of the geotechnical investigation was to determine soil density before construction of a substation. Over 50 SPT borings were drilled to identify the soil density. ATV mounted drill rigs installed 1,242 grout points for a total of 49,680 linear feet drilled. Grouting equipment was mobilized to stabilize the soil. A Reed high pressure concrete pump was used to force 5,150 cubic yards of compaction grout into the 1,242 grout injection points. Additional SPT borings were done throughout the area to confirm the compaction grouting process accomplished the soil stabilization. f.
