Vazquez, PE, PH, BCEE <br />Principal in Charge <br />Hans Murzi, PE <br />Project Manager <br />Kira Leon, PE <br />Project Engineer <br />Hector Rosario, EI <br />Project Engineer <br />The project consisted of the coordination, design, permitting, and <br />bidding assistance for the replacement of a culvert bridge in the Oakhill <br />neighborhood. The project location at the intersection of 17th St. and SW <br />142nd Ave. in Section 30, Township 41 South Range 43 East, Davie, <br />Florida. <br />The project will replace an existing culvert at the Oak Hill neighborhood <br />on a Central Broward Water Control District (CBWCD) canal. The Oak <br />Hill culvert is an existing 66-inch corrugated metal pipe culvert <br />approximately 36-feet long with sand cement end walls under SW 17th <br />Street. The CBWCD performed an inspection of the culvert and <br />determined that the pipe has completely deteriorated and had collapsed. <br />CBWCD determined that the pipe needs to be replaced with a 60-inch <br />reinforced concrete pipe. <br />Permits included Broward County Environmental Resource License, <br />Central Broward Water Control District, and US Army Corps of <br />Engineers Nationwide Permit (NWP) Number 7. <br />RJ Behar was responsible for complete plans preparation, specifications, <br />preparation of permit sketches, permitting packages and follow up. <br />Methodology & Approach: The approach included data collection, <br />review of existing conditions, coordinating topographic survey and <br />geotechnical exploration, and preparation of the plans including <br />Temporary Traffic Control, erosion control and specifications. <br />Quality Assurance/Quality Control: <br />Quality control was completed by in-house personnel using RJ Behar’s <br />quality control review procedures. <br />Management Process: <br />The schedule, budgets, and deliverables were monitored using <br />spreadsheets and scheduling software. <br />Results: <br />The plans were completed with minor comments from the owner and all <br />the permits were obtained including the USACE ahead of schedule. <br />Before <br />Section F - Page | 7
