Project Title: Structure Inspection Program (SIP) – Underwater Component <br />c. Description: UESI was selected by the South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) to <br />perform underwater condition assessments of water control structures. The work orders to date <br />have included the inspection of 23, 36 and 38 structures for FY17-18, FY18-19, and FY19-20, <br />respectively, including culverts, spillways, pump stations, boat locks, and weirs. A UESI Florida <br />professional engineer was always on site supervising the dive operation and providing an <br />engineering assessment. The diving operation was surface supplied with full video and audio <br />communication. As part of the deliverable UESI furnished raw videos, edited with title pages. The <br />inspection data and photographs were entered into the District’s Archival Tool. A metadata file <br />(in Excel form) was provided that listed the team members, dates, and a summary of the structure <br />deficiencies and recommended repairs. <br />d. Project Title: St. Lucie County Culvert Inspections <br />c. Description: Under task assignments under a general contract from 2016 through 2020, UESI <br />provided underwater and wading inspections of culverts for St. Lucie County. Prior to the <br />execution of this contract UESI had been performing the work under individual purchase orders. <br />The culverts ranged in size from 30 to 84 inches and were made of concrete or corrugated metal. <br />UESI developed a report format with the County’s input, that covers the following structural <br />elements: roadway, shoulders, safety features (guardrails, etc.), channel, channel embankment, <br />headwall, wingwall, pipe material, pipe shape, pipe joints, sediment aggregation or erosion <br />(scour). UESI provided raw, unedited video (with audio) as well as a condition report for each <br />structure. <br />d. Year completed: 2020 <br />e. Project Title: Peace River Reservoir Works Inspections <br />c. Description: UESI performed three concurrent task assignments for the Authority. The <br />assignments consisted of diving inspections of the Reservoir No. 2 Influent Works and the <br />Reservoir No. 2 Effluent Works. Reservoir No. 2 Effluent Works was comprised of the Outlet <br />Tower, one 54-inch discharge pipe, one 36-inch discharge pipe, one 66-inch discharge pipe and <br />a baffle chute.
