<br />GSLA helped design a 1.2 mile Franjo Road corridor for downtown Village of Palmetto Bay, containing pedestrian -
<br />friendly shade trees, wayfinding, site furnishings, vendor kiosks, and a proposed linear park. There were traffic
<br />calming measures throughout the roadway for safety, including bike lanes, narrow vehicular lanes, a roundabout, a
<br />chicane, and safety bollards. A diverse plant pallet with doze ns of native tree and shrub species were chosen to
<br />create interest while maintaining visibility for pedestrian safety.

<br />GSLA was the Landscape Architect for an architectural firm selected to perform these services. Under the contract,
<br />GSLA prepared planting and irrigation plans for a new community center within Optimist Park. There were
<br />challenges to overcome with the site plan because this center was located in an existing park with many large trees.
<br />The project was designed using many sustainable initiatives to qualify for LEED credentialing.

<br />GSLA worked closely with the architects to develop a site plan for a new oceanfront park in northern Miami Beach.
<br />Although predominantly a passive park, there were many open spaces for active play. GSLA prepared planting and
<br />irrigation plans. All new landscape was native and tolerant to the extreme dune conditions of the park.

<br />services for a new Fleet Shop Maintenance and Office in Miami. The facility also included a parking lot and garage.
<br />GSA Trade shop received LEED silver status and was the first building in Miami -Dade County to receive this honor.

<br />This contract featured Landscape Design for several projects in the City of Miami - frontage along 20th Street at
<br />Gerry Curtis Park, featuring an entry sign, benches, decorative paving, art, and landscaping; Coral Way medians
<br />from Douglas Road to 3rd Avenue; traffic calming circles in the Roads area; Calle Ocho landscape design and
<br />furniture selection; Port Miami Entrance sign and plaza including hardscape layout, planting, lighting and irrigation.
