General Safety Rules <br />It is the Superior Landscaping and Lawn Service policy that everything possible will be done to <br />protect the workers and visitors on all work sites from accidents, injuries and/or occupational <br />disease. Safety is a cooperative undertaking requiring constant safety consciousness on the <br />part of everyone. If someone is injured, positive and prompt action must be taken to see that <br />they receive adequate treatment. To carry out this policy, the following rules will apply at all <br />times: <br />1. Everyone shall follow the safe practices and rules contained in this manual and such <br />other rules and practices communicated on the job. All unsafe conditions or practices <br />shall be reported to the Superior Landscaping and Lawn Service Superintendent. <br />2. All workers must attend a job safety orientation program conducted by Superior <br />Landscaping and Lawn Service to review all safety rules and requirements. <br />3. Any power cord or extension cord must be of proper gauge and free of any damage or <br />repairs. Any power cord or extension cord found to be damaged or repaired, will be <br />disabled during the periodic site audits. <br />4. Hard Hats will be worn at all times during tree trimming work. <br />5. Work boots will be worn at all times. <br />6. A reflective high visibility vest will be worn at all times. <br />7. Eye protection will be worn at all times by everyone when using power and hand tools <br />and performing work that exposes an employee to foreign air -borne particles. <br />8. Good housekeeping must be practiced at all times in the work area. <br />9. Anyone under the influence of intoxicating liquor or drugs, including prescription drugs <br />which might impair motor skills and judgment, will not be allowed on the job site. <br />10. Horseplay, scuffling, and other acts which tend to have an adverse influence on safety or <br />well being of others are prohibited. <br />11. All injuries should be reported to the Superior Landscaping and Lawn Service <br />Superintendent so that arrangements can be made for medical or first aid treatment. <br />12. Ladders will be constructed in accordance with ANSI and used in accordance with OSHA <br />and best practices. <br />13. Power tools will be used only for their intended function and will be double insulated or <br />grounded. <br />Plan for Prevention of Alcohol and Drug Abuse <br />Superior Landscaping and Lawn Service prohibits the use, possession or distribution on the <br />project site of any of the following by employees: alcoholic beverages, intoxicants, narcotics, <br />illegal or unauthorized drugs (including marijuana), simulated drugs and related drug <br />paraphernalia. <br />
