ART IN PUBLIC PLACES PROGRAM <br />SUNNY ISLES BEACH <br />Vision: <br />The City of Sunny Isles Beach Public Art Program will enrich civic life and <br />forge a greater sense of community, give voice to the creative spirit of its <br />citizens, and celebrate the City's unique landscape and public spaces. <br />Mission <br />The Public Art Program will focus on the following core functions: <br />• Catalyze projects and creative zones that show how public art can <br />connect to the City's creative spirit and engage citizens. <br />• Demonstrate how public art can project a broader image of the City of <br />Sunny Isles Beach enhancing existing focal points both to create <br />community and a sense of place. <br />• Demonstrate to the general public that public art can have a visible <br />and immediate impact on the cityscape. <br />• Review projects initiated by developers. <br />• Review projects, gifts and loans proposed for City property. <br />• Stimulate public awareness of and conversation about public art in <br />general. <br />• Review and manage the existing collection (maintenance, <br />conservation). <br />1 <br />
