<br />City of Sunny Isles Beach |Invitation to Bid No. 20-09-01 10 <br /> <br />Section 2 <br />Special Terms and Conditions <br /> <br />2.1 PURPOSE OF BID <br /> <br />The Golden Shores neighborhood is located in the City of Sunny Isles Beach “City” or “Owner”. <br />The City is seeking a qualified “Contractor” to provide street lighting throughout the neighborhood. <br />The project involves removal of existing light poles, furnish and install new light poles, and related <br />restoration. There is a planned future project (by others) in this neighborhood that will involve <br />conversion of overhead utilities to underground. Contractor shall be responsible for obtaining <br />applicable permits. <br /> <br />2.2 PRE-BID CONFERENCE (MANDATORY): <br /> <br />A Mandatory pre-bid conference will be held on October 27, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Sunny Isles <br />Beach Government Center, 18070 Collins Avenue, Sunny Isles Beach, FL 33160; 1st Floor <br />Conference Room to discuss the special conditions and specifications included within this <br />solicitation. Those who fail to attend this mandatory pre-bid conference will not be considered by <br />the City and their bid will be determined non-responsive. <br /> <br />Bidders are requested to bring this solicitation document to the conference, as additional copies <br />may not be available. Covid-19 precautions will be adhered to: building screening, masks, social <br />distancing, etc. <br /> <br />2.3 AGENT FOR OWNER <br /> <br /> Craven Thompson & Associates, Inc. (the Consulting Engineers) shall serve as agent for The City <br /> of Sunny Isles Beach, in all matters pertaining to the work on this project. No changes in the work <br /> or extra charges to the Contract are effective until recommended by the Engineer and approved <br /> by the Owner in the form of a written change order. <br /> <br />2.4 TERM <br /> <br />This contract will commence upon execution by both parties which shall be the effective date <br />succeeding approval of the contract by the City Commission, or City Manager, unless otherwise <br />stipulated in the Notice of Award letter. Prior to initiating the performance of any services under <br />this Agreement, Consultant must receive a written Notice to Proceed from the City Manager prior <br />to beginning the performance of services. The contract shall be contingent upon the completion <br />and submittal of all required documents. The contract shall remain in effect for 12 months or until <br />terminated for terms of the agreement. <br /> <br />2.5 OPTIONS TO RENEW <br />NOT APPLICABLE <br /> <br />
