<br />CTA Project No. 19-0035-001-01 01600-2 Golden Shores Street Lighting <br />October 12, 2020 SIB Bid No. 20-09-01 <br />1.05 TRANSPORTATION AND HANDLING <br />A. Products shall be transported by methods to avoid product damage and shall be <br />delivered in undamaged condition in supplier's unopened containers or packaging, dry. <br />B. The CONTRACTOR shall provide equipment and personnel to handle products, <br />materials, and equipment including those provided by CITY, by methods to prevent <br />soiling and damage. <br />C. The CONTRACTOR shall provide additional protection during handling to prevent <br />marring and otherwise damaging products, packaging, and surrounding surfaces. <br />1.06 STORAGE AND PROTECTION <br />A. Products shall be stored in accordance with supplier's written instructions, with seals and <br />labels intact and legible. Sensitive products shall be stored in weather-tight enclosures <br />and temperature and humidity ranges shall be maintained within tolerances required by <br />supplier's written instructions. <br />B. For exterior storage of fabricated products, they shall be placed on sloped supports <br />above ground. Products subject to deterioration shall be covered with impervious sheet <br />covering; ventilation shall be provided to avoid condensation. <br />C. Loose granular materials shall be stored on solid surfaces in a well-drained area and <br />shall be prevented from mixing with foreign matter. <br />D. Storage shall be arranged to provide access for inspection. The CONTRACTOR shall <br />periodically inspect to assure products are undamaged and are maintained under <br />required conditions. <br />E. Storage shall be arranged in a manner to provide access for maintenance of stored <br />items and for inspection. <br />1.07 STORED MATERIALS AND PAYMENT <br />A. CONTRACTOR is required to carry insurance policies to cover all materials and <br />equipment stored onsite or offsite. Coverage shall include physical loss or damage from <br />transit, fire, lightning, extended coverage, theft, vandalism and malicious mischief, <br />collapse, debris removal, demolition occasioned by enforcement of Laws and <br />Regulations, water damage, and such other perils or causes of loss. <br />B. Payment for materials or equipment stored onsite or offsite shall be permitted only with <br />the satisfactory physical de livery being confirmed by the Engineer, materials and <br />equipment are suitably stored in accordance with all manufacturer <br />recommendations/requirements, and shall be accompanied by a bill of sale, invoice, or <br />other documentation warranting that Owner has rece ived the materials and equipment <br />free and clear of all Liens and evidence that the materials and equipment are covered by <br />appropriate property insurance or other arrangeme nts to protect Owner’s interest. <br />C. In the case of long lead items that need to be order ed and stored in advance of <br />construction work beginning, the CONTRACTOR shall notify the ENGINEER in writing of <br />the circumstances and provide a justification for storage and payment of equipment or <br />materials outside the approved sequence of work. <br />1.08 MAINTENANCE OF STORAGE <br />A. Stored products shall be inspected on a regularly scheduled basis. The CONTRACTOR <br />shall follow all required/recommended storage requirements such as environmental <br />controls (air conditioning), periodic rotation of moving parts, lubric ation, etc. The
