<br />CTA Project No. 19-0035-001-01 02050-2 Golden Shores Street Lighting <br />October 12, 2020 SIB Bid No. 20-09-01 <br />PART 2 - PRODUCTS <br />(Not Used) <br />PART 3 - EXECUTION <br />3.01 GENERAL <br />A. Prior to commencing work, the CONTRACTOR shall check all underground and <br />exposed existing utility in any way associated or in the proximity to the items to be <br />removed and shall verify that the piping is inactive (abandoned) and that electric power <br />to equipment, lighting, controls, etc., has been permanently disconnected. Active <br />services shall be brought to the attention of the CITY for proper action. <br />B. The CONTRACTOR shall remove all equipment and accessories in a workmanlike <br />manner and shall take all necessary precautions to avoid damaging existing equipment, <br />piping, and structure which are to be retained. Damages shall be repaired or replaced at <br />the expense of the CONTRACTOR. <br />C. The CONTRACTOR shall proceed with the removal of the structures, equipment, piping, <br />and appurtenances in a sequence designed to maintain continuous operation. <br />3.02 UNAUTHORIZED REMOVAL <br />A. Any equipment, piping and appurtenances removed without proper authorization, shal l <br />be replaced to the satisfaction of the CITY at no cost to the CITY. <br />3.03 SALVAGED ITEMS <br />A. Items noted on the Drawings to be salvaged shall remain the property of the CITY. <br />Valves shall be salvaged when located on pipelines shown to be demolished. The <br />CONTRACTOR shall carefully move salvaged equipment to a CITY designated off -site <br />location. <br />3.04 DEMOLITION <br />A. All materials and equipment shown on the Drawings to be removed or demolished shall <br />become the property of the CONTRACTOR, with exception of items noted on Drawings <br />to be salvaged or items tagged on site by CITY personnel. The CONTRACTOR shall <br />dispose of all demolition materials, equipment, debris and all other items off the project <br />site and in conformance with all existing applicable laws and regulat ions. <br />3.05 STRUCTURAL REMOVALS <br />A. The CONTRACTOR shall remove structures to the lines and grades shown, unless <br />otherwise indicated by the ENGINEER. <br />B. All wood, concrete, brick, tile, concrete block, roofing materials, reinforcement, structural <br />or miscellaneous metals, plaster, wire mesh and other items contained in or upon the <br />structure shall be removed and taken from the project site. These items shall not be <br />used in backfill. <br />C. Finishes: After removal of parts or all of masonry walls, slabs and like wor k, which tie <br />into new work or existing work, the point of junction shall be neatly repaired so as to <br />leave only finished edges and surface exposed. <br />3.06 MECHANICAL REMOVALS <br /> (Not Used)
