<br />CTA Project No. 19-0035-001-01 02050-1 Golden Shores Street Lighting <br />October 12, 2020 SIB Bid No. 20-09-01 <br />SECTION 02050 - DEMOLITION <br /> <br />PART 1 - GENERAL <br />1.01 THE REQUIREMENT <br />A. The CONTRACTOR shall remove and dispose of or salvage any existing structure, <br />piping, conduits, electrical equipment, mechanical equipment, or appurtenances or <br />portions thereof, as shown on the Drawings or required to complete the project. <br />B. All materials designated for disposal shall, when released by the ENGINEER, become <br />the CONTRACTOR's property and shall be removed from the site to the <br />CONTRACTOR's own place of disposal. <br />1.02 RELATED WORK SPECIFIED ELSEWHERE <br /> (Not Used) <br />1.03 SUBMITTALS <br />A. The CONTRACTOR shall submit for review, in accordance with Section 01300, <br />"Submittals" the proposed methods, equipment and operation sequence. Include <br />coordination for shut-off, temporary services, continuation of service and other <br />applicable items to ensure no interruption of operations except as hereinbefore <br />specified. <br />1.04 JOB CONDITIONS <br />A. Protection: The CONTRACTOR shall execute the demolition and removal work to <br />prevent damage or injury to structures, occupants thereof and adjacent features which <br />might result from falling debris or other causes, and so as not to interfere with the use, <br />and free and safe passage to and from adjacent structures. <br />B. Closing or obstructing of roadways adjacent to the work by the placement or storage of <br />materials will not be permitted. All operations shall be conducted with a minimum <br />interference to traffic on these ways. <br />C. The CONTRACTOR shall repair damage done to facilities to remain, or to any property <br />belonging to the CITY. <br />D. Scheduling: The CONTRACTOR shall carry out his operations so as to avoid <br />interference with operations and work in the existing facilities. <br />E. Notification: At least 48 hours prior to commenceme nt of a demolition or removal, the <br />CONTRACTOR shall notify the ENGINEER in writing of his proposed schedule therefor. <br />No removals shall be started until it is acceptable to the ENGINEER. <br />1.05 DUST CONTROL <br />A. The CONTRACTOR shall use temporary enclosures and other suitable methods to limit <br />the amount of dust and dirt rising and scattering in the air to the lowest practical level. <br />Existing electrical and mechanical equipment to remain shall be protected from damage, <br />dust, and debris. <br /> <br /> <br />
