Unfinished, Indoor and Outdoor, Wet and Corrosive: NEMA 250, Type 4X. <br />3.04 WIRING DEVICES <br />A. Switches: <br />1. Mounting Height: See Paragraph OUTLET AND DEVICE BOXES. <br />2. Install with switch operation in vertical position. <br />3. Install single-pole, two-way switches such that toggle is in up position when <br />switch is on. <br />B. Receptacles: <br />1. Install with grounding slot down except where horizontal mounting is shown, in <br />which case install with neutral slot up. <br />2. Ground receptacles to boxes with grounding wire only. <br />3. Weatherproof Receptacles: <br />a. Install in cast metal box. <br />b. Install such that hinge for protective cover is above receptacle opening. <br />4. Ground Fault Interrupter: Install feed -through model at locations where ground <br />fault protection is specified for "downstre am" conventional receptacles. <br />3.05 DEVICE PLATES <br />A. Securely fasten to wiring device; ensure a tight fit to the box. <br />B. Flush Mounted: Install with all four edges in continuous contact with finished wall <br />surfaces without use of mats or similar materia ls. Plaster fillings will not be acceptable. <br />C. Surface Mounted: Plate shall not extend beyond sides of box unless plates have no <br />sharp corners or edges. <br />D. Install with alignment tolerance to box of 1/16 inch. <br />E. Engrave with designated titles. <br />F. Types (Unless Otherwise Shown): <br />1. Office: Stainless Steel. <br />2. Exterior: Weatherproof. <br />3. Interior: <br />a. Flush Mounted Boxes: Stainless Steel. <br />b. Surface Mounted, Cast Metal Boxes: Cast metal. <br />c. Surface Mounted, Sheet Steel Boxes: Stainless Steel. <br />d. Surface Mo unted, Nonmetallic Boxes: Plastic.
