This plan shall be used as a guideline by our supervisors in <br />the interest of accident prevention, fire protection and health preservation. <br />The company shall maintain a safe and healthful work place. R & D Electric,lnc shall provide safe <br />working equipment, the necessary personal protection equipment and, in case of an injury, shall <br />provide medical services. <br />The company shall exert every effort to abide by all regulations as they pertain to the construction <br />industry which is set forth in federal and state standards and good practices as dictated by location <br />and circumstances. <br />Objectives <br />The objectives of this safety policy are as follows: <br />• Maintain a safe and healthful work environment in order to prevent injuries. <br />• Follow all State, Federal, and Local regulations that pertain to the construction industry. <br />Minimize equipment damage. <br />Promote employee involvement with safety. <br />Maintain a hostility -free work environment. <br />RESPONSIBILITIES <br />Safety Officer: <br />It is the safety officer's responsibility to make sure that R & D Electric,lnc safety policy and all <br />federal, state and local regulations are followed:( i.e.) 29 CFR Part 1926 Occupational Safety and <br />Health Standards, and EM 385-1-1 Corps of Engineers Safety and Health Manual (when applicable) <br />and any of the Clients Safety policies that might exceed the prior mentioned. He/She shall do so by <br />doing the following: (including but not limited to) <br />Being pre -active instead of re -active to eliminate accidents, injuries etc. <br />Conduct inspections of jobs to ensure that all the above regulations are being followed. Discuss any <br />findings and or changes with the jobsite supervisor. Issue written warnings and or terminate any <br />violators, and turn them in to the Human Resource office to be put in the employees file. <br />Investigate any and all accidents, injuries, vandalism/theft, damage, utility hits, etc. Some of the <br />methods to do this are as follows: <br />• Take pictures <br />• Speak to witnesses <br />Tum in reports to insurance companies <br />Call local law enforcement (if applicable) <br />Write reports on every incident and file <br />• Contact utility companies when needed <br />• Speak to Doctors/workmen's comp. about injuries <br />
