Our scope includes the Signature Bridge, Main Span Arch and Hanger Cables, Bridge Piers and Abut- ments, Pedestrian Pathway/Heritage Park under Signature Bridge and elevated highway, from Biscayne Boulevard to Over- town. Ongoing Ongoing x x x 14 2* 2019 2019 2012 2017 Ongoing Ongoing 2015 2020 Project Manager: To create a signature nighttime presence for the Skyway, HLB designed a new dynamic lighting system that highlights the grandeur of the bridge by revealing its substructure, washing the sizable piers in light, and illuminating the silhouette of the dramatic roadway span with delicate necklace lights. Cost: $15 M Project Manger for this signature bridge. HLB provided full design services from conceptual design through construction for the aesthetic and pedestrian path lighting. Custom-designed lighting of the shared use path will be integrated into the railing system to minimize light trespass while providing safe nighttime passage for pedestrians and bicyclists. The result will be a nighttime image that elegantly reveals the forms of the bridge while being respectful of the surrounding wildlife and human communities.
