CONSTRUCTABILITY
H&H’s design approach is integrated with practical construction techniques and the maintenance of traffic
approach. We have visited the Bridge Park site, developed site access alternatives, reviewed easement
documents, and a conducted lane closure analysis to minimize construction risk.
Foundation Installation
Installation of the 5-foot-thick concrete pile cap requires a
cofferdam for dewatering. The permanent easement can
accommodate the footing with the western edge of the
cofferdam installed in the temporary easement. It is
anticipated that concrete trucks will line up in a lane closure
along 174th Street and access the cofferdam through the
temporary easement to deliver concrete for the augercast
piles and pile caps.

H&H-Designed SW 1St Street Bridge over the Miami River: Cofferdam Installation
Augercast Piles Installed with Cofferdam
